
Katy has worked as a field biologist at MNR since the spring of 2013. Her responsibilities focus on wetland delineation in Minnesota and Wisconsin, as well as avian rare species surveys.
Katy holds a B.A. in Biology from Carleton College and has extensive experience as a field biologist. Prior to joining MNR she spent ten years working with the National Park Service in Michigan. She was the lead technician on projects documenting the presence and distribution of several small mammals (bats and mustelids), and assessing resource impacts caused by visitors camping in wilderness areas. Additionally, Katy has worked on invasive plant inventory and control, songbird point counts and banding, frog/toad calling surveys, and common loon territoriality and productivity studies. Katy’s professional experience also includes project planning and logistics, data management, and writing technical reports.
