Rob started with MNR in the spring of 2012 and serves in the capacity of field biologist. Rob has a B.S. in Environmental Conservation with minors in Biology and Geographic Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Prior to attending school, Rob served 8 years in the United States Marine Corps where he served as an infantry platoon sergeant.

Rob worked with the US Fish and Wildlife while in school where he conducted raptor surveys, grassland bird surveys and banded waterfowl and swans. He also worked in the prairies of western Wisconsin collecting native plant seed for use on restoration projects and removing invasive species from native plant nurseries.

Since starting with MNR, Rob has been focused on native plant community classification, prairie monitoring, and wetland in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He has additionally been involved with wetland related projects for large-scale linear utility projects in Illinois, Missouri, Montana and Oklahoma as well as endangered bat habitat surveys. In addition to survey work, Rob is responsible for MNR’s GIS department
